WoW Weekly 100 Words 2/9/11

Happy almost-noon Wednesday! Yes, I seem to be running late yet again. Long day, already... I think I might need to do my hop post on Tuesday night so it's ready for you when you waken.

Before I share my current read, I want to share with you two books I received in the mail this week. The first I won in a blog book giveaway: Julian Block's Easy Tax Guide for Writers, Photographers, and Other Freelancers and it couldn't have arrived at a more opportune time -- tax time! The second, author R.A. McDonald requested that I read and review: ADA Legend Of A Healer. I am so looking forward to this one. Inside is also fabulous artwork to go along with the tale.

Today, for WoW Weekly 100 Words, using The Word Count Tool, I'll share with you 100 words from the book I'm currently reading: The Capablanca Variation, a novel by author Douglas Quinn. This excerpt is from the end of Chapter 30 and beginning of Chapter 31:

     At that moment, Remei realized that Waliedine had either misled her or, if this was in fact the place where Jennie was being held, she'd already been taken away, possibly with Hamza on his trip to Ouled Ben Shika. There was no way she'd be invited inside if Jennie was still there. Maybe she could figure out a way to determine if Jennie had been there.
     There would be no violence here, though. This time, subterfuge was going to be Remei's modus operandi.
     Remei followed the old woman inside.
