Tear Soup Grief Recipe Book for Adults and Kids

This past month grief has spilled over into my life. While some losses have touched me with brevity, a few occurrences of loss have been felt a little too close to home.

One friend and her family now grieve the loss of a loved one. It is Veronica who introduced me to the book I am now adding to my TBR Books List and I do plan to purchase myself a copy in the near future.

When I visited Amazon to take a "look inside" Tear Soup: A Recipe for Healing After Loss, I knew immediately I would want to own this book of special recipes.

The book is written and illustrated in a child-like manner, which I always find soothing about a book, in and of itself. Maybe it's the kid in me or maybe the simplicity takes my mind back to a place where understanding was simpler, not befuddled by what I think I already know as an adult.

Have a look at Tear Soup yourself. You just might find you want a copy of it for your family library (or kitchen) too. And if you like poetry, stop by Hosking's Blog and read a bit of Veronica's poetry and prose.

New Authors to Add to my Bookshelf

As though I do not have enough books to read, I am adding two newfound authors to my TBR Books List this week. I am sure it shan't be long before one of their books finds it way upon my bookshelf, especially since I THINK I know which of their books I shall read first.

I say think because in the case of both authors, all of their book titles on Amazon look to be great reads!

I ran across author Douglas Wood while looking for something appropriate to share in my Blessedness of Being a Thankful Soul article yesterday. Yes, I found a blessed offering for that blog post.

Here I share another of Wood's books that grabbed my eye. Be sure to take a closer look at Where the Sunrise Begins and other titles by the author to see how his words wind the pages in poetic prose. Each book is beautifully illustrated to capture and to hold the attention of its readers, too.

Early today, in reading a book review I was introduced to a new author whose books I cannot wait to read!

Yes! Again I must say, I need more time to read!

Need More Time To Read

I really do need more time in my days for reading all of the books on my reading and review list.

That said, here I go again with the addition of two more books to my TBR Books List.

Dog lovers and their children are going to love the book, Gracie The Undercover Beagle and her Sidekick Boston Blackie--The Egg Thief, by Douglas Quinn.

Having a canine friend of my own, I am really looking forward to reading this one.

My copy of "Gracie" is already on its way to me, as I am reading this children's book for review. Be sure to stay tuned to Ruthi Reads! for the rave review.

Deliverance the Book

Although I have seen the movie numerous times, I have not yet read the book, Deliverance by James Dickey. Thus, I am now adding it to my TBR Books List.

Most readers seem to think the books movies are based on are better than the films themselves. For the most part, I disagree, as I find both enjoyable, even if a bit different.

Just yesterday I published an article on Squidoo, sharing a fond memory about the Dueling Banjos of the film. No doubt you shall enjoy my story of my little boy, too.

Surfing through Amazon I ran across this book title and it piqued my interest enough to go read its reviews and I took a Look Inside.

As a creative and as a writer, I seem to find plenty of reasons (excuses) to table a lot of projects and ideas, for another day - a day that may not come!

Yes, it is time I get out of first gear and put the pedal to the metal!

David and Goliath on TBR List

I learned about this soon to be released gem of a book by Gladwell upon the reading of the book review by Seth.

In fact, inspired by Seth, I wrote up a review of my own - my perspective of The Three Little Pigs children's book.
